"Why Not Home?" Screening and Panel Discussion on October 13, 2016

On Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline, Bay State Birth Coalition held a screening of Why Not Home? Why Not Home is the new film exploring the stories of doctors, midwives, and nurses who attend births in the hospital, but choose to have their own babies at home. Watch the trailer.

Our panel discussion following the film featured: "Why Not Home" filmmaker Jessicca Moore (a family nurse practitioner in California); Bill Barth MD (chief of maternal fetal medicine at MGH); Bayla Ostrach PhD (medical anthropologist at BU); and Tara Kenny (certified professional midwife attending home births in the Boston area). The panel was moderated by post-partum doula and public health advocate, Divya Kumar. Special introduction to the film by Judy Norsigian, founder Our Bodies, Ourselves.
